Jana VanderGoot has dedicated a chapter to Hundertwasser in her new book „Architecture and The Forest Aesthetic“ which intends to inspire a wider engagement of the wooded landscape for creating better urban environments and profound aesthetic experience.
She describes Hundertwasser’s idea of tree tenants as a tactic of sponanteous ornament and sees growing interest in spontaneous vegetation as Hundertwasser advocated it because it provides wildlife habitat, mediates temperature extremes and processes storm water in urban environment.
